The Best Good Pals Aces

The Best Good Pals Aces

Posted by James Kiernan on

We have some contrasting designed aces across the Good Pals series, let's take a look at our work below:

Themed aces - Christmas Playing Cards

To start with I will be talking over what I think are our best aces to date, which is our Christmas aces. The ace of spades takes center stage, as is often the case with most playing cards, but I believe this is the best ace of spades we have produced to date.

We created a winter themed village in the mountains, housed inside a spade shape. The blue frame captures an icy feel and this is elevated further in the Snow Globe editions that feature blue foil on the card.

The ace of clubs is one of my all time favourites too. For me, club aces are some of the hardest to customise due to the awkward shape, but after being patient I finally came across the idea of two penguin pals fishing as the sun goes down. I was so happy with the final result.

The heart and diamond aces take on a cosy Christmas atmosphere. Think the morning of Christmas, you come down the stairs to see presents under the tree and your stocking full. We wanted to capture the nostalgia of Christmas with these aces.

Formerly pictured was the aces from the Santa + Snowman editions, but below you will see the foiled aces from the Snow Globe editions:

Themed Aces - Halloween Tales Playing Cards

Halloween Tales goes all-in on the theme just like our Christmas decks.  Pictured below you will see a skeletal face within the spade frame, and within the heart frame is a part of the design from the Halloween Tales tuck box

The diamond ace is one of my favourites. A large spider is found resting on its web, and inside the club is an assortment of bones and even some eyeballs.

Traditional Aces - Logo Playing Cards

The Good Pals Logo Playing Cards were designed to create a more traditional style deck but with a Good Pals twist. My favourite decks are either the intricate and luxurious, or the classic and minimal. Here we went with classic and minimal but with a luxury touch for our limited editions.

The aces are enlarged but feature a classic design that promises a familiar feeling associated with a standard deck of cards. The Good Pals logo is present on the ace of spades and even elevated with luxurious gold foil on our limited edition Private Reserves.

Traditional Aces - Chancers Playing Cards

Chancers Playing Cards was the very first deck of cards by Good Pals.  The aces are more or less standard except for that of the ace of spades. At the time, the ace of spades graphic was a t-shirt design. Good Pals initially started as an apparel brand, and the design was adapted to match the gambling aesthetic of the deck.

As of October 2025, that is all our aces! Would love to hear your thoughts on our designs and whether you have a favourite.

Thanks for reading!
